St. Louis Branch Member Mary Bruemmer, former dean of women at St. Louis University, will speak about SLU’s Women’s Commission, which will celebrate 40 years in March. It was begun because she received a Status of Women Report from AAUW that suggested campuses initiate a women’s commission of the status of women on campuses. - April 20, 2013 – Saturday, 2:00 PM – Branch Meeting. Meeting in Whelpley Hall, Room 4120, St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Learn about AAUW! Connect with like-minded women! Participate in choosing branch priorities! Meet with new and old friends. Learn about AAUW’s issues, membership, public policy, research, legal advocacy, member and campus leadership, and branch projects. Help select the direction for the Saint Louis Branch. In addition, joining us will be Samantha Williams, a St. Louis resident who was the recipient of AAUW of Missouri’s scholarship to the 2012 National Conference for College Women Student Leaders. - June 1, 2013 – Saturday, 11:00 AM – Branch Meeting. Annual luncheon, Alumni Saint Louis Restaurant, 200 N. 13th at Pine, Downtown St. Louis. Guests are welcome. After lunch we will tour the $70 million restoration of the St. Louis Public Library located at 1301 Olive, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk as our guide shows us the restored, Renaissance-inspired ceilings and the cleaned, 100-year-old glass that now shares space with high-speed wireless access, data closets, music recording rooms, and hundreds of computers.
